Medication after medication. Still stuck.

You've tried the antidepressants. Maybe therapy too. Some helped a little, some not at all, some came with side effects worse than the depression.

TMS is different. Gentle magnetic pulses reactivate the areas of the brain that depression quiets down. You sit in a comfortable chair, awake and alert, and drive yourself home after each session.

What your course actually looks like.

Standard TMS runs 6-8 weeks, with 1 session per weekday. Here is how it unfolds.

A session takes less than 20 minutes. You stay awake the whole time.

Learn About Accelerated TMS

I struggled with severe depression for years and tried many medications with little success. I did the research and found Evolve Brain Health. I completed accelerated TMS and I feel better. I never thought I'd say that. You will not find a more kind and empathetic staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does insurance cover TMS in Connecticut?

Yes. Standard TMS is covered by most major plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, UnitedHealthcare, ConnectiCare, Husky, and Medicare, for patients who haven't responded adequately to antidepressants. We verify your specific benefits and handle the prior authorization paperwork for you.

  • How much will I pay out of pocket?

For most covered patients, out-of-pocket cost is comparable to a standard specialist copay, typically between $0 and $25 per session depending on your plan. We confirm your exact cost before you start. No surprise bills.

  • Does TMS hurt?

Most people feel a tapping sensation on the scalp. It can feel odd the first few sessions, then most patients read or relax through it.

  • How long does TMS take?

Standard TMS runs 6-8 weeks with daily sessions less than 20 minutes. Our accelerated program compresses the full course into a single day or five days.

  • What's the difference between Standard TMS and Accelerated TMS?

Both use the same FDA-cleared technology. Standard TMS delivers 1 session per weekday for 6-8 weeks and is covered by most major insurance. Accelerated TMS delivers many sessions per day, finishing in a 1-day or 5-day program, but the compressed schedules are off-label and 100% self-pay. Your provider will help you choose the right fit at your free consult.

  • Can I drive after sessions?

Yes. There's no sedation. You can drive, work, and go about your day immediately.

  • What if I haven't tried enough medications to qualify?

Coverage typically requires trying two antidepressants without adequate relief. If you're not there yet, we offer full psychiatric care, medication management and therapy, and can transition you to TMS if needed.

  • Is TMS safe?

TMS is FDA-cleared with a well-established safety profile. Side effects are typically mild scalp discomfort or headache that resolves quickly. There's no sedation and no memory effects.

  • Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. Book a free consultation directly.
