How quickly will I feel a difference?
Many patients notice a change in mood within 24 hours of their first session. Significant improvement typically shows within 2 to 4 weeks.
How much time does treatment require?
Your first visit is 60 minutes, where you will meet with a provider to discuss your history, past and current medications, and determine whether Spravato is right for you.
Each Spravato session requires at least two hours in our clinic — this is a REMS requirement, not something we can shorten.
Will I get addicted?
Spravato is administered only under medical supervision. When used as prescribed and monitored appropriately, the risk of misuse is low. Clinical trials show no dependency at therapeutic doses.
What am I expected to do?
You just show up for your appointments and ensure you have a ride to take you home after treatment — we manage the rest. We handle REMS enrollment, insurance verification, prior authorization, and monitor treatment.
What are the risks and side effects?
Most common side effects may include feeling spaced out (called dissociation), dizziness, mild nausea. These happen during the session and fade within 2 hours. For these reasons, every session is monitored in our clinic.
You will need a ride home, you will not be allowed to drive home after a treatment and it's recommended not to drive for 24 hours following a treatment.
What's the difference between Spravato and ketamine?
Spravato (esketamine) is FDA-approved and insurance-covered, given as a nasal spray. IV ketamine is off-label, cash-pay, and not FDA-approved for depression. Same chemical family, very different experience and cost.
How long will I be on Spravato?
Most patients complete 8 sessions over the first 8 weeks (twice weekly, then weekly), then maintenance every 1 to 2 weeks. Once stable, some patients reduce or stop entirely.
Who isn't a candidate?
Active substance use, certain heart or blood pressure conditions, pregnancy, or history of certain neurological events. We screen at your first visit so you know before you commit to anything.
